Our Pastor and the Plan of Salvation

Rev. Ed Vasquez, Pastor

Watch Pastor Ed's television show "Victory in the Walk" on Tuesday and Thursday evenings on QATV (Quincy Access Television) channel 8.

Passion for preaching and teaching has been the driving force in the life of Rev. Vasquez since coming to know Jesus Christ as his Savior. Ed followed the Lord's leading and turned his full attention to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with those whom God has put in his life.

Born in New York City, he grew up in Brooklyn with his mother, a brother and two sisters. Following his mother, Ed moved to Boston in 1973 and at the age of 15 ran away from home and dropped out of high school.

In October of 1983 at the age of 25 Ed accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and married Melinda (Mindy) Vasquez in 1984. Following God's leading in his life, Rev. Vasquez and his wife Mindy moved to Lansdale, PA where he attended Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary, and graduated in May of 1995. Ed merged his love for preaching with his faith in God and moved to Baltimore, Maryland and started a new church work where he ministered for five years.

From there he and his family moved to Pittsburgh, PA and became the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. The family moved back to Boston in 2002.

Since then Ed has been working at Eastern Nazarene College and is now also the pastor of Victory Church in Quincy, MA. Being behind the pulpit and preaching God’s Word gives Ed the opportunity to connect with people as he shares from his heart and with his humor. Sharing the work God has done in his life and the doors God has opened and closed has allowed Ed to open up with the audience. He finds that being real with people and especially Christians, allows them to trust him, and once they do, they will listen to what he has to say. Ed and Mindy have been married for 23 years and have 3 daughters (Renee 18, Becky 12 and Stephanie 10).

Salvation

What does it take to begin a relationship with God? Wait for lightning to strike? Devote yourself to unselfish religious deeds? Become a better person so that God will accept you? NONE of these. God has made it very clear in the Bible how we can know Him. This will explain how you can personally begin a relationship with God, right now...

To receive Jesus Christ, the gift of God, you must take a few steps:

  • Admit that you are a sinner and you need a Saviour.
  • Be willing to turn from your sinful ways and repent.
  • Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross and rose from the grave.
  • Pray and invite Jesus Christ to come in and take control of your life.
  • You may pray the following prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus,

I know that I am a sinner and I am asking Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust You as my Saviour and follow You as my Lord.

Thank You for saving my life  O Lord, help me to walk in Your ways and to be obedient to Your Word, I ask. I thank You now for eternal life which I received through faith in Jesus Christ. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and guide me through this life. Hold my hand, dear Jesus, so I won't go astray. Glorify Your name through my walk with You, I pray.

Amen.
